I just came home from a long night shift.
800 kilometers behind me, a visit to artschool, helping a old lady along the way.
The day is cold and clear, and before moving on, I needed a moment, a pause.
So I lit a fire in the fireplace, just to feel a little warmth and let myself rest.
Watching a living flame has a quiet power. The movement is gentle, unhurried, and it invites the mind to slow down with it. As the fire burns, thoughts soften and attention turns inward. It becomes easier to be present — right here, right now.
Fire has always been part of human life. Not only as a source of warmth and light, but as something that grounds us. Its rhythm is never the same, yet always familiar. Some research suggests that observing fire can reduce stress and calm the nervous system. Perhaps that’s why, even today, a simple flame can offer comfort, reflection, and a sense of inner stillness.
How are you doing today?😊
