Some days you have to go looking for something to be thankful for — the to-do list is long, the news is heavy, and gratitude feels like the last thing on the menu.
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Notice it doesn't say give thanks for every circumstance — it says in every circumstance. You're not required to be grateful that the hard thing happened. You're invited to look for God's hand even while it's still hard. Gratitude isn't pretending things are fine. It's choosing to notice what's still good, right in the middle of what isn't.
Your move today: before you check your phone or start your list, name three specific things you're grateful for — not "family" and "health" in general, but something real from the last 24 hours. A text that made you laugh. A meal you didn't have to cook alone. A problem that turned out smaller than you feared.
Gratitude has a way of rearranging what you see. The same day can look heavy or look full, depending on what you trained your eyes to notice first.
Comment THANKFUL if this stirred something in you today.
