We don’t choose where we’re born, but we do get to choose where we live. This is the view (minus the rainbow) of my first visit to the Flathead Valley in 1978. I felt like I was home, and knew this is where I wanted to live. Then came a college stint, some escapades in the military, and in 1985 I moved here.
I raised a family here; sent them off, welcomed them home, and got to watch them become parents and blossom into incredible adults. I didn’t know why this place felt like home, but I trusted my gut, followed my heart, took a lot of bruises along the way, and settled when others fled.
Make your choice based on values and instinct. Then buckle in for the long, rocky and wonderful ride.
When you know you are where you belong, where you are supposed to be, it’s easier to be content and avoid distractions. Work becomes your ally, not your master and everything you do can bring value to others.
