From trying to be a “hustle robot” to rebuilding my life through play
I used to be the kid who thought “more work = more worth.”
I got sucked into hustle culture and the online guru circus.
And tbh it made me feel like a fraud.
Not because I wasn’t trying.
Because I was trying to be someone else.
That misalignment slowly turned into a long depression.
Like… scary dark.
Suicidal thoughts.
Even on a trip to Greece, I wasn’t really there.
And the worst part is I started avoiding the basics:
outreach, follow ups, money convos.
I’d just overbuild behind the scenes and call it “progress.”
Then I learned something that changed me:
Misalignment isn’t a mindset issue.
It’s a health risk.
If I sell something I don’t believe in, my body eventually shuts it down.
So I rebuilt around what actually feels like me:
teaching + systems + play + honesty.
That’s why I built The Skoolyard.
No email list.
No real following.
No paid ads.
Just Skool Discovery reps and overdelivering in public.
It went from zero to 170+ members in ~43 days, hit around $500 MRR early, and climbed to around #31 in Self Improvement (close to the star badge).
Now I help burnt out creators turn their messy Skool into a simple engine that can actually pay rent.
Without becoming a content zombie.
Without guru tactics.
And without breaking their nervous system.
If you want the exact “Skool in a box” build process I use (and the traffic loop that doesn’t require ads), comment YES and I’ll send it :)
