One thing that helps me break writer’s block fast is switching from “writing the book” to “writing one tiny scene.” Instead of thinking about chapters or structure, I pick a single moment—an argument, a reveal, a memory—and write only that. No pressure, no transitions, no polishing. Just the scene.
Half the time, that small spark gets the momentum going again, and suddenly the chapter doesn’t feel so heavy.
If you’re stuck today, try writing a 3–5 sentence micro-scene from anywhere in your story. It’s amazing how often clarity shows up once the pen starts moving.
