Hey everyone ๐ชฑ๐ฑ
A warm welcome to all the new members joining the Worm Farming Community!
Iโm thrilled to share that Iโm currently in South Korea ๐ฐ๐ท, taking part in the 2025 Africa Saemaul Undong Training Program โ an incredible initiative bringing together 27 leaders from South Africa, Lesotho, and Mozambique to learn from Koreaโs world-renowned rural development model.
We arrived on October 26th, and for the next 80 hours, weโre diving deep into the Saemaul Undong (New Village Movement) โ exploring how Korea built thriving rural communities through innovation, cooperation, and sustainability.
The best part? ๐
This program actually incorporates worm farming! Weโll be visiting a worm farm to see how Korea integrates vermiculture into sustainable agriculture and waste management. I canโt wait to see their systems, setups, and how theyโve scaled production while keeping everything eco-friendly and efficient.
Right now, itโs Day 3 in Suwon, and weโre covering topics like:
*The Saemaul Undong Model and its cooperative principles
*Economic development through rural innovation
*And going foward, a workshop on Action Plan Development, where Iโll be working on ideas to integrate worm farming into community development projects back home.
My mission from this program:
โ
Develop a customized Saemaul Undong model that includes worm farming as a key driver of rural growth
โ
Create projects that generate youth employment and sustainable income
โ
Deliver actionable plans that communities can implement immediately
This experience is a game-changer for our movement. Iโll keep you all updated after the worm farm visit and share practical insights we can apply to strengthen our own projects ๐๐ช
