Hopefully at some point we've all taken part in a small group of creators. Stressed-out Novel Writing classmates. Colleagues who wanted (needed?) to meet monthly during lunch hour to share our poems with other humans. "The Artist's Way" 12-week study group. NaNoWriMo friends. Even Instagram writing prompts, linking us together only by hashtags.
I'm Joy, "a waker and a welcomer with words." I've had that honor of belonging to such a group, & I'm hosting this cohort because I want that again. With more engagement, honest feedback, more celebrating wins together. With more time. With more people.
“Waking Up Worlds Away” is a work in progress. It will take some weeks to build it out and build it up (perhaps with a little help from some of you!), but it will be the kind of writing group I’ve had glimpses of and dreams about before, the kind of writing group I’ve always wanted to belong to while writing—as C.S. Lewis expressly advised—the kind of book(s) that I myself’ve always wanted to read.
