A New Horizon

I've been thinking about WonderWander lately.

Not because something is wrong.

Quite the opposite, actually.

I'm really happy with what this little corner of the internet has become. We've wandered through Tarot, astrology, psychometry, symbolism, spirituality, creativity, strange questions, personal explorations, and all sorts of curious rabbit holes. I've added things to the Classroom, experimented with different kinds of posts and activities, and watched this community slowly develop its own character.

And somewhere along the way, I realized that WonderWander has become something a little different from the thing I first imagined.

Not different in the sense of having lost its way.

Different in the way that living things become different from the seed they grew from.

When I created WonderWander, I had a fairly simple vision: I wanted to create a place for people who are curious. People who like to wonder out loud. People who aren't necessarily looking for certainty, doctrine, or someone to tell them what something means, but who enjoy exploring the questions, symbols, ideas, experiences, and mysteries that make life a little more interesting.

That vision hasn't changed.

I don't want to turn WonderWander into something it was never meant to be. I don't want to impose a rigid curriculum, build a content machine, or create structure simply for the sake of having more structure.

But I do think it's time to start thinking about what comes next.

Because WonderWander is no longer just an idea I had.

It's a community.

And that means its future shouldn't be determined entirely by the person who happened to have the original idea.

I've been thinking about expanding the Classroom, experimenting with different kinds of community experiences, creating more opportunities for conversation and participation, and generally giving WonderWander a little more room to grow.

But before I decide what any of that should look like, I want to hear from the people who are actually here.

Because as much as I love the things I've created for WonderWander, the content isn't the lifeblood of this place. You are.

The articles, resources, prompts, experiments, gatherings, and assorted strange things I've thrown into the mix are really just invitations. They're things to wander toward.

The actual community happens in the people who show up.

It's in the conversations.

It's in someone sharing an unexpected thought.

It's in the perspective you hadn't considered.

It's in the person who says something that sends you down an entirely new rabbit hole.

It's in the moments when somebody recognizes a little piece of themselves in something someone else has shared.

That's the part I can't create by myself.

So I'd like to invite you into a conversation about the next chapter of WonderWander.

Not just "What do you want?"

I'm interested in something a little deeper than that.

What is WonderWander actually like from where you're standing?

What keeps you here?

What has surprised you?

What feels alive?

What doesn't?

What would you love to have more room for?

And perhaps just as importantly, what should we not change?

You don't need to come up with brilliant ideas or a five-year plan. You don't need to be someone who posts constantly. You don't need to have an opinion about every aspect of the community.

I'm interested in honest impressions—even the messy ones.

If something isn't working for you, I'd genuinely like to know.

If something feels unnecessary, confusing, inaccessible, underdeveloped, or simply not very interesting, tell me.

If there's something you've been wishing WonderWander had a place for, tell me that too.

And if your answer is simply, "Honestly, I like it pretty much as it is," that's useful for me to know as well.

• Is there something you'd enjoy contributing yourself if there were a natural opportunity to do so?

• If WonderWander grows into its next version, what would you hope it feels like?

You can answer one question, several, all of them, or completely ignore my questions and tell me whatever feels relevant. There are no wrong answers here.

I'm not looking for a unanimous vote on what WonderWander should become.

I'm listening for patterns, possibilities, tensions, sparks, and things I may not be seeing from my side of the room.

WonderWander began with a vision.

It's grown into a community.

And I think the next part of its story should be something we discover together.
