I want to talk about something I see holding back almost everyone who joins this community before they ever start.
It’s not the tech. It’s not competition. It’s not your age.
It’s three quiet beliefs most of us carry around without even noticing.
Belief 1: “I’m too old to start something new.”
I believed this one hardest. After I got laid off at 46, I figured I’d just take whatever work I could get and grind it out until my body said no. That belief cost me years I can’t get back.
Here’s the truth: your age isn’t a disadvantage online. It’s the trust and credibility younger creators spend years trying to build. You already have it.
Belief 2: “I’m not tech-savvy enough.”
I had zero idea what I was doing when I started. None. I figured out one tool, then the next, then the next. The whole staircase looked impossible from the bottom. The next step never was.
You don’t need to know everything. You just need to learn the next step.
Belief 3: “Nobody would pay for what I know.”
A 26-year-old creator once asked me how I built trust so fast. I didn’t even know how to answer. It wasn’t a strategy. It was 30 years of just showing up.
Someone out there is stuck on a problem you solved years ago. That knowledge is worth more than you think.
So here’s my question for you today: have you made money online yet, even a little? Or are you still in the “figuring it out” stage?
Drop a comment either way. No wrong answer. I read every single one.
