A potential client wants me to do location scouting for their shoot before hiring me 🫠 (+ feedback for Willa)

Fellow producers, directors, DP’s and videographers, how much of a red flag is this?

I work primarily as an editor so I’m not too familiar with pre-production. Most of my coworkers are saying this is no bueno (so it probably is), but I’m interested in hearing some other perspectives.

some feedback, but maybe it would be handy to have categories for different industries on here? General discussions or questions for graphic designers, photographers, videographers, etc. Or maybe there’s a neater, possibly more detailed way to organize different subjects within the community that I’m not aware of.
