Perplexity Just Launched an AI Browser in India!!

Yea you read that right!

Not just another browser like Chrome or Edge.

But an Agentic browser(not the first) called Comet… built natively on Perplexity’s AI engine.

Forget bookmarks. Forget tabs.

This thing remembers what you’re researching, recommends context in real-time, and even acts like your personal agent.

It can perform some really crazy tasks like

- Summarize your emails & calendar!

- Draft a web page into an email and send it for you!

- Book meetings, buy products, and navigate websites with one text command!

Comet, launched worldwide in July 2025, and now its available in India for users on Mac & Windows. Android users can pre-order on the Play Store.

And the timing? That's no accident Of Course!

India is Perplexity’s second largest market after the US, and also the fastest growing pool of AI-native users.

This might have happened because of their collaboration with Airtel..

But here’s the catch…

"Privacy!"

How much data should an AI browser remember?

And will users trust a browser that literally merges search + productivity + automation into one?

Still, this is a massive step forward.

India’s $150B internet economy is shifting from “search & click” to “ask & act.”

Which is Insane!!

If Comet works at scale, it could seriously pressure Google’s AI Overviews, Microsoft’s Copilot Edge, and even Apple’s Safari to evolve or get left behind.

So here’s the big question…

"Are we ready to ditch Chrome, Edge, Brave & Safari for an AI that doesn’t just search, but actually does the work for us?"
