The first thing to focus on
Once you understand where you are financially, the next question is:
What deserves my attention first?
Not everything needs to be fixed at once.
The goal is to find the issue that, if improved, would make the rest of your financial life a little easier.
It might be:
  • money disappearing faster than you expect
  • a lack of breathing room each month
  • debt that keeps pulling you backward
  • not knowing what you can actually afford to save
The point isn’t to solve all four at once.
It’s to identify the one that matters most right now.
That’s how you move from simply understanding your situation to actually gaining control of it.
One clear priority is often more useful than ten good intentions.
