Intro - I hope this is what you meant David
Hi everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹
Iโ€™ve ended up here through a slightly unusual mix of lived experience, operational work, recovery conversations, neurodivergence, burnout, systems thinking and a lot of very late-night โ€œhang on a minuteโ€ฆโ€ moments.
A huge part of the work and thinking Iโ€™ve been exploring recently sits around the crossover between:
โ€ข ADHD
โ€ข addiction
โ€ข emotional regulation
โ€ข burnout
โ€ข shame
โ€ข nervous system overload
โ€ข and what happens when people spend years surviving systems that never fully understood them in the first place.
The more I looked into neurodivergence through my own life and my children, the more I started recognising similar patterns everywhere else too:
โ€ข recovery
โ€ข workplaces
โ€ข education
โ€ข community settings
โ€ข mental health
โ€ข trauma
โ€ข exclusion
It stopped feeling like isolated struggles and started looking more like repeated human patterns.
Iโ€™m particularly interested in:
โ€ข recovery through a neurodivergent lens
โ€ข trauma-informed approaches
โ€ข reducing shame-based narratives
โ€ข earlier understanding
โ€ข and creating environments where people can engage without judgement or stigma.
David Collins encouraged me to join after reading some of my writing and honestlyโ€ฆ Iโ€™m really glad he did.
Looking forward to learning from everyone here and being part of the conversations.
