A gentle reminder:
You are allowed to step away from your writing.
If the words feel tangled, if your brain feels foggy, if you’re rereading the same paragraph for the tenth time, that might not be a sign to push harder. It might be a sign to pause.
Rest is not quitting. Stepping back is not failure. Distance can be part of the process.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do for your story is:
- Take a walk
- read something nourishing
- sleep
- move your body
- not think about your draft at all
When you come back, you often return with:
- clearer perspective
- sharper instincts
- renewed energy
- and fresh eyes
Writing is a long game. You don’t have to solve everything today.
If you’re stepping away for a bit, you’re still a writer. And when you’re ready to return, your work will be waiting for you.
