When you say you’re in covenant, there should be a standard that governs your words, your actions, and your relationships. True covenant is not maintained only when it is easy, beneficial, or comfortable, it is demonstrated through honor, integrity, faithfulness, and mutual commitment. True covenant produces reciprocity at the highest level, where both parties give, serve, protect, and remain accountable to one another. If there is no consistent standard and no mutual commitment, it may be a relationship, an agreement, or an association. but it is not covenant.
