A few nights ago I went dancing.
I wasn’t networking.
I wasn’t promoting anything.
I wasn’t looking for opportunities.
I was participating.
I danced.
I moved through the room.
I followed the music.
Later that night I started a conversation outside.
That conversation led to meeting the owner of a venue.
Before the night was over, I was invited back.
None of that was planned.
The opportunity did not come from chasing.
It came from participation.
I didn’t plan any of this.
I participated first.
The opportunity appeared second.
