Participation Win #001
A few nights ago, I went dancing.
Nothing was scheduled.
No business objective.
Just participation.
I danced publicly.
I moved through the room.
I followed the music.
I enjoyed myself.
Later, I stepped outside and started a conversation.
That conversation led to meeting the owner of a venue.
We talked.
She enjoyed the energy.
Before I left, she told me I was welcome to come back and perform whenever I wanted.
I didn’t ask for the opportunity.
The opportunity emerged from participation.
That’s the lesson.
Most people try to plan every outcome before they act.
But many of the best things in life happen after you show up.
Participation creates experiences.
Experiences create stories.
Stories create relationships.
Relationships create opportunities.
I didn’t plan any of this.
I participated first.
The opportunity appeared second.
