Extension vs Lock in a new 6 mo lease.
Got a call from an assistant to a Dodgers player who’ll be playing with the Oklahoma Smokies. They’re looking to lease one of our homes from April 5th through September.
Only issue we currently have a Homelink insurance displacement couple in the property on a month to month through the end of March (they’ve been there since Thanksgiving). There’s a chance Homelink may want to extend them a couple of more months.
I’m interested in the baseball player....they’re willing to sign a lease ASAP.
I asked my advisor (ChatGPT LOL) and it said as long as I honor the approved term and give HomeLink notice that the home isn’t available after March, it shouldn’t hurt the relationship ,since they deal with thousands of inventory changes every year. Not sure about that......I'm sure it will cause some type of disruption on their end. This is the only concern I have.
For those of you with tons of experience, how would you handle this?
Would you notify Homelink the home is not available after March? I have 10 days to do so and lock in the athlete on a lease?
Or keep the insurance placement rolling?
Appreciate any insight you might have. Thanks!
