I started this community for 4 reasons:
This would have been helpful 20 years ago when I first started clinicals
I've noticed a large lack of IV practice opportunity for the average nurse, tech, student nurse etc combined with very little time shadowing clinicians who regularly place difficult & specific lines. Shadowing virtually, especially in our online classroom, can help you make the most of each IV attempt opportunity you get
I often see poor device or vein selection & poor execution when it comes to vascular access resulting in ver real vein & tissue damage by infiltration/extravasation or multiple needle punctures
By compressing the vascular access lessons I've learned the past 7 years working on the largest VAT team in my state, I hope to shorten the learning curve for you!
