Perplexity's bet
with their release of the Computer use, perplexity is betting that the orchestration layer is where the money is.
This is a very similar game as what Cursor , and to a certain degree other SaaS companies who don't have their own models (Lovable, Canva, Figma, Notion etc.) are doing, although not to the same level.
Nate in this video thinks that it's not the right positioning because these are going to get eaten up by the companies like Anthropic, Google and OpenAi as they do more vertical integration across the layers.
