Annual Safesport and MAAPP Policy Notification
Dear USAPM Members and Participants,
At USA Pentathlon Multisport (USAPM), the safety and well-being of every athlete, coach, official, parent, and participant in our community is our highest priority. In alignment with the U.S. Center for SafeSport requirements for 2026, we are sharing important information that all participants are required to review.
1. Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies (MAAPP)
Our current, Center-approved MAAPP outlines expectations and boundaries designed to protect minor athletes.
➡️ Please review here: https://www.usapentathlon.org/safe-sport
All participants are required to review these policies annually.
2. SafeSport Code
The SafeSport Code defines prohibited conduct and reporting obligations across the Olympic & Paralympic Movement.
3. How to Report Misconduct
Anyone may report concerns involving:
  • Sexual Misconduct
  • Physical Misconduct
  • Emotional Misconduct
  • Violations of the MAAPP
Reports may be submitted anonymously and without cost.
➡️ U.S. Center for SafeSport Reporting Portal: https://uscenterforsafesport.org/report-a-concern/
Our reporting page explains when reports go directly to the Center and when USAPM has jurisdiction.
If you believe someone is in immediate danger, please contact local law enforcement right away.
4. Training for Parents/Guardians
We strongly encourage parents and guardians of minor athletes to complete training on recognizing, preventing, and reporting child abuse in sport.
➡️ Parent Training Access: https://uscenterforsafesport.org/courses/
5. Training for Minor Athletes
Training is also available for minor athletes to help them understand boundaries, recognize misconduct, and know how to seek help.

We encourage families to review and complete this training together.
Please take time to review all the resources above. Your awareness and commitment play a vital role in maintaining a safe and positive environment for everyone in our sport.
Thank you for helping us uphold the highest standards of athlete safety and integrity.
Sincerely,
USAPM
