Don't Trade Your Authenticity for Approval
💔 I did something today that hurt my heart, but I had to do it.
For the first time, I declined a recommendation 👇 on another platform.
👉 Why?
📖 As I read through the long recommendation, it became quickly apparent that the writing was more about the author than about me. So I checked out the profile and scrolled to the "Recommendations Given".
Verbatim. Copy and paste. The last several recommendations given by this person were an exact match to mine. 🤔
I am about authenticity, and this was certainly the polar opposite.
I must be true to who I am. I must be true to what I believe. I must decline. 💔
