Material world pleasures

I been thinking about this a lot recently

I've been wondering can I learn all this occult and esoteric knowledge, become enlightened and still be involved in the material world pleasure.

The reason I've been mulling this over is because I've been learning gnosticism from the nag hammadi scriptures and it talks a lot about the material world.

What I'm wondering is how does anyone else manage to enjoy the pleasures of this world without feeling guilty that they could be using their time to learn more about the other stuff or do you never take the time to enjoy the material pleasures
