Welcome to Ụlọ Akwụkwọ Igbo — a home for anyone who wants to speak, understand, and truly live the Igbo language, no matter where in the world you are.
This community was born from a truth too many of us know personally. We grew up surrounded by Igbo and still cannot speak it fluently. We understood our grandparents but could not answer them back. We sat at family gatherings, afraid to try, watched our children grow up further from the language, and decided that it would end with us.
I am Amaka — founder of the ASụSụ Igbo App. I built this space for the Igbos ready to reclaim what was almost lost — our language, our proverbs, our culture, and our pride.
