City of Imperial Beach Elections
🔍 District Elections Are In Effect
  • Since 2020, council seats are elected by district (Districts 1–4).
  • You’ll run only in your district, and only voters in your district will vote for your seat.
  • The mayor is still elected citywide.
  • 💸 Local Contribution Limit: $250 per person, per election
Imperial Beach adopted Ordinance No. 2024-1242, setting its own city campaign limit:
  • You may not accept more than $250 from any contributor
  • This includes individuals, businesses, and PACs
  • Applies per election (primary, general, or special)
✅ This overrides AB 571 and the $5,900 state default limit✅ Be sure to track all contributions carefully
