Who is Stefano?
My name is Stefano. I live in San Francisco. My background is in Disaster Planning and Policy — I spent years preparing communities for crises before they arrive. I created this community because of a disaster that isn't coming. It's already here. Why I Built This Community — And Why Now Is the Moment I want to be direct with you about why I created Transition Investor Academy and why I believe what we're doing here matters more right now than at almost any other point in American history. Three things are happening simultaneously that most people are treating as separate problems. Baby Boomers are retiring at a rate of 10,000 people per day — and many of them own businesses. Profitable businesses. Businesses they spent 20, 30, sometimes 40 years building from nothing. And most of them have no one to sell to. At the same time, AI and automation are creating genuine fear in the workforce. Employees who have spent their careers building these companies are watching their job security erode and wondering whether they'll have a place to land. And in communities across the country — maybe yours — you're watching it happen in real time. Empty storefronts. Closed local businesses. Neighborhoods that feel like they're slowly hollowing out. These aren't three separate problems. They have one solution. My company helps business owners transition their companies to employee ownership — so the owner retires with dignity, employees become owners of the business they helped build, and the business stays rooted in the community where it belongs. We've facilitated dozens of these transitions. The results for everyone involved are extraordinary. The problem is the demand is far greater than what our team can handle alone. So I built this community to train people across the country to do exactly what we do — and we will hold your hand through every step of the process. Your first deals, we work alongside you. You Don't Need to Be a Lawyer. You Don't Need to Be a Banker. Here's What You Actually Need.
When people first hear what we do — help business owners transition their companies to employee ownership — the reaction is usually one of two things. Either: "That sounds incredible. But that's way over my head." Or: "I had no idea that was even possible." Both reactions make complete sense. This is one of the most underutilized solutions in American business today — not because it doesn't work, but because almost nobody knows how to facilitate it. So let me be clear about something. You do not need a finance degree. You do not need a law license. You do not need prior experience in mergers and acquisitions or business brokerage or anything close to it. Here is what you actually need. You need to be able to have a genuine conversation with a business owner about what retirement looks like for them and what happens to their employees when they walk out the door. That's a human conversation. Not a technical one. You need to be willing to reach out to the people in your community who know business owners — brokers, CPAs, attorneys, bankers — and introduce yourself and what you do. That's relationship building. Not rocket science. And you need to be willing to learn a process and follow it. Because the process works when you follow it. Everything else — the legal structure, the financing, the compliance, the closing — that's what my team handles alongside you on your first deals. You are not doing this alone. You are doing this with people who have done it dozens of times before. The first person we're looking for isn't an expert. It's someone who gives a damn about business owners in their community, wants to build a real income doing meaningful work, and is willing to show up consistently.
