Soul Washing
Everything in this Soul Washing Program revolves around one simple principle:
WHAT A PERSON AGREES WITH MATTERS.
Agreement is more than mental assent.
It is more than hearing a teaching, understanding an idea, or being able to quote a Bible verse.
Every person lives according to agreements.
Some agreements are conscious.
Others have been accepted so gradually that they are hardly noticed.
A person forms agreements about who God is, what God is like, what Jesus accomplished, what salvation means, what sin is, what grace provides, and what is actually possible in this life.
Those agreements determine whether you experience freedom or bondage as a daily reality.
This is why two people can read the same book, claim to believe in the same Jesus, and yet experience completely different realities.
The difference is not necessarily how much Scripture they know.
The difference is what they have agreed with.
To understand how powerful an agreement can be, begin with something very simple.
Think about an agreement between two children.
One child says:
“I will trade you my blue bicycle for your red bicycle.”
The other says:
“I agree.”
The moment they agree, something changes.
Before the agreement, each bicycle belongs to its original owner.
After the agreement, both children have willingly entered into a new arrangement with each other.
This is the basic idea of COVENANT.
A covenant is not merely knowing what someone said. It is coming into agreement with what was said and entering into the relationship that agreement creates.
When a person joins the military, that person agrees to follow its leaders and its rules.
When a person signs a lease, that person agrees to live according to the terms of that lease.
The rules and authority exist before the agreement is made, but the agreement places the person under that authority.
The spiritual realm works the same way.
Agreement with God places a person’s life under the authority and reality of Heaven, which produces heavenly fruit like divine direction, love, peace, joy, hope, health, success, prosperity and Eternal Life.
Agreement with the devil and his lies places a person’s life under the authority and reality of darkness, producing hellish fruit like confusion, hopelessness, anxiety, fear, sickness, poverty, death, and ultimately eternal damnation.
Believe it or not, every person chose to be born into this reality we find ourselves in, and it is kinda like waking up in a burning building. It may not be obvious the building is on fire at first, but pretty soon you start seeing the signs. Then the alarms go off:
You start running for an exit and a firefighter appears. He says:
“The hallway is blocked. Use the stairwell.”
At the same time, someone pretending to be a firefighter says:
“The stairwell is dangerous. Take the hallway.”
The person trying to escape must decide which voice is telling the Truth.
That decision determines the next action. And when the action is started an agreement is formed.
If the person decides to listen to the legitimate authority and ACTS ON IT, that agreement leads toward safety.
If the person decides to listen to the false authority, and ACTS ON IT, those actions lead toward destruction.
The consequences do not come merely because the words were heard.
They come because the person decided which voice was true and ACTED according to it. Really all that matters is ACTION. If the person claims to agree with the real firefighter but starts following directions from the fake firefighter, who does that person ACTUALLY agree with and believe?
ACTIONS ALWAYS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS
Simply knowing what God says is not the same as agreeing with Him. Just as simply hearing the firefighters is not the same as escaping the burning building.
One must combine hearing with ACTION to have an AGREEMENT.
First, you have to choose the right authority; then you must ACT on it to escape the danger.
In the spirit realm, some agreements require only a change of mind, while others require immediate and sustained ACTION.
A change of mind is called REPENTANCE, but a change of action is called TURNING.
You will find both in the Bible because they are connected.
A person can REPENT and begin acting on something even before it feels natural, comfortable, or completely settled in the mind. This is one way to test the fruit of an agreement: by suspending your beliefs and ACTING on TRUTH.
