The Burnout Report 2026 has been published by Mental Health UK and the results are staggering - 9 out of 10 workers are experiencing extreme levels of stress. 1 in 5 people are taking time off due to stress (2 in 5 for people aged 18 to 24 years old). The group most at risk of burnout - ages 25 -34. The stats are static or increasing. Not surprising with the levels of uncertainty rising at the macro-level. Aiden's story seemed all too familiar.
That's why, we want to be part of the solution - providing some relief through science-backed strategies with an overlay of lived experience. We cannot control our environment, people around us or what lives at us - we can only control our responses and how we carry the load. This is what I learned - my burnout didn't happen when I had the most on my plate, or working the longest days - so what happened? It all related to how I was carrying the load, how I was responding to situations.
