It’s insane I’m sharing this for free, but here’s how I’ve closed my biggest deal organically. I spent no money on ads. Along with some luck, it simply took consistency, which translated into $700-$1,000/month of passive income for almost 2 years now.
- I built rapport first without ever mentioning card processing. From the moment I walked in, I knew this local aquarium store wasn’t going to be a simple one time visit. Their stock was insane. At the same time, I genuinely love getting to know people and helping good people grow in their ventures! I found out what makes the staff and business owner tick and what makes them respond.
- After about 3 weeks, I mentioned I help business owners scale through eliminating their processing fees. I was met with heavy resistance, but with time I continued to challenge their ridiculous rate they were currently at! I would subtly mention how much money they are losing and how much they would continue to lose if they didn’t change. I used humor to lighten the jabs.
- After bothering him so much, he eventually gave in! When I thought I was being annoying, I used humor to lighten my proposals. I challenged the loyalty and control of his current merchant services agent, and no answer came from them. This was gold.
- The machine cost $300. A simple terminal helps him scale much faster and makes me money in the process. Less factors = less things to worry about and less things to go wrong.
The hardest part about this whole process is building rapport and starting conversations. The ability to be an excellent conversationalist is a massive help. In a world rapidly adopting AI, this is crucial to close massive leads. My secret? I genuinely care about their lives and truly want to see their business grow. There is no script I can give you to follow to be better at talking. But it is a muscle everyone can practice everyday to get better at. There are gyms on every block, yet it’s never full. Be the person that shows up consistently.
