Welcome to The Walsingham Company
We are an independent lay Catholic community for those exploring Christianity or Catholicism, preparing for or undergoing RCIA or OCIA, newly received into the Church, returning after time away, or seeking stronger foundations in their Faith.
Walsingham stands at the heart of our identity. According to tradition, in 1061 the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to Richeldis de Faverches and showed her the Holy House of Nazareth, where Blessed Mary heard God’s word and gave her yes to His will. A replica was built at Walsingham, which became one of England’s great places of Catholic pilgrimage and became known as England’s Nazareth.
