What is the GLTA
Hi Skoolers,
I wanted to make post to talk about the GLTA (Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance). Even though I have played in 50+ tournaments since 2013. I am still meeting people who are playing in their first GLTA tournament. I wanted to pass on more insights to increase awareness that these tournaments are happening all the time in different parts of the world and I want more players to join the Tennis Tour!
What is the GLTA?
The GLTA is the Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance. It is a LGBTQ+ sports organization that sanctions amateur tennis tournaments around the world. GLTA tournaments are fun and lively events with lots of entertainment and socialization between the fierce competitions. There are 5 divisions of players levels from Beginners (D level)..(C).. Intermediate (B).. (A).. and Advance (Open Level).
The reason I love playing in GLTA tournaments are because of the many friends that I have made over the years. From people that I have played against to those I had the courage to strike up a conversation with. The GLTA was my foundation of my passion of tennis and wanting to build a community.
Please let me know if you have ever heard of the GLTA before this post. I want to see how many I have first told of the organization.
