What kind of exercise/ movement/ workout split have you found 1) most beneficial and 2) most enjoyable? (Bonus points if it meets both categories!)
I have trialed many different exercise routines over the years including full body, push pull legs, and simply just making it up on a given day. Currently, I am trying to incorporate more power and jumping type movements to keep my body adapted to higher loads!
Looking back, the biggest driver of the program/ type and frequency of exercise I engage in tends to come from my work, and previously school, schedule.
Prioritizing time to exercise/ move and building other scheduling aspects around it has helped me stay consistent. Making the decision ahead of time to prioritize my health and exercise keeps me accountable and helps avoid decision fatigue!
I have also found that creating a weekly plan to fit the season I am in before engaging in exercise helps me to exercise with intention. Not to mention saving time thinking about what to do while at the gym, and it helps ensure I progress.
