Mama is Here!
Today, my daughter was sleeping alone in her room while I was in the kitchen making dinner. Suddenly, I heard a loud cry.
I knew she had woken up. She was probably hungry, needed a nappy change, or simply wanted to be held. When I walked into her room and picked her up, she rested in my arms and immediately became calm.
The funny thing is, I had not fed her yet. I had not changed her nappy yet. In fact, I could see the signs of hunger, and yes, the nappy situation was definitely announcing itself too.
But the moment I held her, she settled.
It was as though she knew, Mama is here now. Everything will be okay.
And that spoke deeply to my spirit.
Sometimes we labour, panic, cry, and strive, even when we are already in the Presence of God. But there is a peace that comes from simply knowing: God is here. God has me. Everything will be alright.
Jesus is the Prince of Peace. His presence may not mean every need is met instantly, but it reminds us that every need is seen, known, and will be cared for in due time.
May we learn to rest in the arms of the Father, even before the answer comes.
Because when God is present, peace is possible.

Motherhood changed my faith. How does she trust so freely? Let go so quickly? Through her, I am learning to trust God in quiet, everyday moments.
