I came across a video from an interview with James Clear recently where he was talking about the concept of "always give value before you ask for value". The more I think about it, the more it feels like a great principle in life (whether it be inside a product, in a business pitch, in a relationship, for strangers etc.). I think this is especially helpful for entrepreneurs. The full quote is:
> "Always give value before you ask for value. Before you ask for readers, write the article you wish you could read. Before you ask for the sale, create the product you wish you had. Before you need support, be the supportive friend. Before you need love, be the loving partner".
