Building Relationships--Important?

You know, I am struck by how many people 'pitch' before they seek engagement. Is building relationships important? Do you forensically target who you reach out to and/or do you judge who you accept as a connection based on what you think they can do for you? Curious minds want to know. (There is no right answer... just what works for you. 😉)

In my experience, I find that some people who I thought I had nothing in common with, were my greatest connectors to others who could change my entire trajectory. For instance, connecting with a financial adviser in the USA who then introduced me to a streaming network CEO who I am working with to produce my TV show. Never in a million years would I have imagined that!
