PT-141, also known as bremelanotide, is a synthetic cyclic peptide studied for its activity at melanocortin receptors in the central nervous system, particularly pathways associated with sexual desire and arousal. Research has explored its effects in both women and men; however, the FDA-approved prescription formulation, Vyleesi, is indicated only for acquired, generalized HSDD in premenopausal women. Research-grade PT-141 is not the FDA-approved prescription product. Reported effects associated with prescription bremelanotide include nausea, flushing, headache, injection-site reactions, temporary blood-pressure increases, reduced heart rate, and possible focal hyperpigmentation. For educational and laboratory research purposes only. Not for human consumption.
