Beautiful day, so, Some Me Time 😊
150km or so ride out this afternoon, St Lo, Carentan, Utah Beach, now stopped for coffee in Sainte Mere Eglise.
Monument to Richard Winters who was the commander of Easy Company, part of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. He is best known for his leadership during key battles, including the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge, and his story was popularized in the HBO miniseries "Band of Brothers."
And the Church with its steeple forever tied to the paratrooper whose chute snagged during the D-Day invasion.
