Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes relaxation and reduces stress to support healing. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei, meaning "God's Wisdom" or "the Higher Power," and Ki, which means "life force energy." So, Reiki is "spiritually guided life force energy."
How It Works
A Reiki practitioner uses their hands to deliver this energy to the client's body, which helps to improve the flow and balance of their energy. The practitioner's hands are placed lightly on or just above the client's body in specific locations, like the head, shoulders, stomach, and feet. The energy flows from the practitioner's hands to the client, activating the body's natural healing processes and restoring physical and emotional well-being.
What to Expect During a Session
During a session, the client remains fully clothed and lies on a massage table. The experience is different for everyone, but most people report feeling a deep sense of relaxation. They may feel a tingling sensation, warmth, or coolness from the practitioner's hands. Others may simply fall asleep.
