What do you do with your Thanksgiving leftovers?
I’m a big fan of using every bit of food we can. In today’s world, there’s no room for waste.
So, we make Thanksgiving hand pies with our left overs!
It’s easy peasy!
Put all of your leftovers in a pot with a bit of broth. Measure with your heart. I include whatever is left. Today’s mix is turkey, potato, green bean casserole, corn and gravy.
Heat and mix until the turkey is shredded.
While it’s heating flatten out half of whatever brand of canned biscuit you like. Keeping the biscuits individual… just bigger and flatter. I prefer the cheap ones 😂. I flatten them out enough so that I can put a good sized scoop of the turkey mixture into it.
Flatten the other half of the can of biscuits out. And put them to the side.
Heat the oven to 350 and scoop your turkey mixture into half of the flattened biscuits. Again, measure with your heart. You can’t possibly mess these up.
Throw the other half of of the flattened can of biscuits over the top each of of the individual filled pies and seal them. If I’m feeling fancy I’ll seal them by pressing a fork around the edges. If I’m feeling like a rushed mom I just squish the edges down with my fingers.
Bake for like, 15 minutes or until golden brown. Whatever comes first.
Top with your left over gravy! (Or make some new gravy, or don’t even use gravy, it’s all so good either way!)
Enjoy! Tell us, what do you do with your left overs?
