It's not ironic or a joke. It's serious.
This coach is actually saying that she isn't here to serve, isn't interested in people's businesses, and her attention is only engaged as far as the credit card clears.
There's an old saying, "When someone tells you who they are, believe them."
I'm sure she's going to backpedal, saying something about how she's talking about common BS lines that people use, but what she is saying is quite clear. She's here for business, not people.
I have a problem in my business. I get too excited about working with people, their projects, and their adventures that I forget to get paid. I give out advice, make connections, and, only recently, have I started to really get people to pay me a fraction of the value I provide them.
I'm okay with this because God makes sure that when I take care of others, I am taken care of, one way or another.
I am here to help, serve, and provide value.
I am genuinely interested in people's businesses.
And, in many cases (but definitely not all) I love meeting like minded people who are passionate about what they do.
I can't imagine being in this profession if I didn't. It seems like it would be very dry and difficult without loving the people.
What do you think?
