  • Lincoln elected to Congress in 1846.
  • Kennedy elected to Congress in 1946.➝ Exactly 100 years apart.
2. Elected to the Presidency
  • Lincoln elected President in 1860.
  • Kennedy elected President in 1960.➝ Again, 100 years apart.
3. Civil Rights
  • Lincoln fought to end slavery.
  • Kennedy fought for civil rights.➝ Both were champions of freedom in their own eras.
4. Assassinations
  • Both were assassinated on a Friday.
  • Both were shot in the head.
  • Lincoln was killed in Ford’s Theatre.
  • Kennedy was killed in a Lincoln … made by Ford.➝ Same names. Same themes. Opposite order.
5. The Assassins
