Daily Giveback 0018 – “You Provide the Fire, I Provide the Sacrifice”
Inspired by 1 Kings 18, Acts 10, & Luke 12:49🔥✝️
Today, I want to give back by offering what was poured into me this morning during church—a word that lit a fire in my heart and reminded me why I keep showing up.
Let’s start with this:
The enemy does not want you to feel the presence of God.
Why?
Because when the Holy Spirit moves, relationships are formed.
And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17).
No Spirit = No freedom.
Spirit present = Chains break. ⛓️‍💥
Simple as that.🕊️⚡
It’s Mother’s Day
…and it’s also my dad’s 84th birthday!
We actually thought it was yesterday—whoops—but turns out, it’s today. 🎉
That reminded me of something from my childhood.
My dad once asked me to sweep the floor.🧹
I ignored him because I thought only Mom gave orders.
He let me know real quick: He was in charge! 🤴
Lesson?
If your relationship with God only activates during emergencies 🚨, it’ll always feel chaotic.
But when you build it daily—through love, obedience, and listening—it becomes rooted, not reactive.🌱❤️‍🔥
I believe Jesus wants to do a deep work in you today.
He wants to remind you:
His affection for you is incredible… and your affection for Him matters too.💌
Now a word from Pastor Clark:
I’m so grateful to be a Christian. No shade to other faiths, but I once took a world religion class… it didn’t make me smarter, it made me grateful.📖 🙏🏼
When Jesus came back after the resurrection, He asked Peter (who had denied Him 3x):
“Do you love Me?”
Then said: “Feed My sheep.”
He didn’t rebuke. He redirected.➡️🐑❤️
If your actions flow out of love for Jesus, you’re doing the right thing.
Forgiveness.
Giving.
Ministry.
It all starts with affection.
Because when your heart is full of Him, it spills into how you love people.👐🏽💖
Let’s talk fire.🔥
This song won’t leave me alone:
“You provide the fire, I’ll provide the sacrifice.”🎶🔥
Elijah gathered the wood before the fire fell (1 Kings 18). That’s your job too…
Prayer? Wood.🪵
Worship? Wood.🪵
Generosity? Wood.🪵
The Word? Wood.🪵
And when the fire comes, it needs something to burn.🪵🔥 🪵🔥🪵🔥
Jentezen Franklin put it this way:
“Prayer is the wood. It’s the fuel that keeps the fire alive when there’s nothing left to burn.”⛽🔥
Cornelius in Acts 10 didn’t know God deeply—but he prayed and gave generously.
And God noticed.👀💰🙌🏽
“Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering.” (Acts 10:4)
That’s YOU, church.⛪️
You give. You pray. You serve.
That’s wood. And your prayers are the spark.
🧎🏽‍♂️✨🪵🔥
Now to the showdown on Mount Carmel.
One prophet of the Lord.
850 false prophets.
And Elijah said:
“How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him!” ⚔️🔥👑
(1 Kings 18:21)
Stop being lukewarm.
Your dream is to be on fire.🔥
Your nightmare is to be spiritually blah.
Matthew 24:12 says in the last days, “the love of many will grow cold.”
Don’t let that be you.❄️❤️🔥
Don’t just wish for fire—expect it.
But gather the wood.🪵
No friend group? Praise God.
If you’re alone right now, don’t sulk.
Praise God for the quiet.
Talk to Jesus.
Walk with Him. ✌🏽🚶🏽‍♂️🔥
Let Him burn away what doesn’t belong.
Elijah thought he was alone.
“I am the only prophet of the Lord who is left…”
(1 Kings 18:22)
But then came the test:
Two altars. Two bulls.
Only one God would answer by fire.🔥👀
They danced. Shouted. Cut themselves.
But their gods were silent.
Because fake gods don’t move.🗿🙅🏽‍♂️
Elijah said: Maybe your god’s asleep… or using the bathroom!
(Yes, really—1 Kings 18:27)
Humor aside, it was about to get real.
He rebuilt the altar.
Piled the wood. 🪵🪵🪵
Soaked everything in water… 3 times. 💦🌊💧
Then prayed: “Answer me, O Lord, so these people will know You are God.”
And boom…🔥
Fire from heaven.
Burned up the bull, the wood, the water, the stones, the dust!
No doubt left.
And the people said:
“The Lord—He is God!”
(1 Kings 18:39)⛰️⚡
Last note:
God didn’t just light the fire… He cleaned house.
“Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let one escape.” (1 Kings 18:40)
God is loving… yes.
But He is also holy.
And He will remove anything that tries to compete for His glory.🔥⚖️
Let this be your prayer today:
God, take my life.
Set me ablaze for You.
Make me the sacrifice.
Do whatever You want with me, so I can become whatever You desire.🕊️🔥
Luke 12:49 (ESV):
“I came to cast fire on the earth, and would that it were already kindled!”
Song of Songs 8:7 (NIV):
“Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away.”
Don’t let the fire go out.
He provides the fire.🔥 🔥 🔥
We provide the sacrifice. 🪵🪵🪵
Let it burn.❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
