👉 I started studying English five years ago.
(FOR)
I __________ five years.
📝 Exam Coaching:
  1. Spot the meaningThe sentence means: I began five years ago and I’m still doing it now. → This is an unfinished action.
  2. Think about the tenseFor unfinished actions, examiners usually want the present perfect or present perfect continuous.
  3. Fit the key wordThe word FOR signals duration, so your structure must include “for …” in the correct place.
👉 Your turn: Put the pieces together and comment your version ⬇️Tomorrow I’ll post the model answer and point out the common traps.
💡 Exam trap: Don’t use the past simple (I studied for five years). That changes the meaning completely.
