When you see a gap, ask yourself:π What part of speech fits here β noun, verb, adjective, or adverb?
Look at the words around it.
- After an article (a / an / the) β probably a noun
- Before a noun β probably an adjective
- Before a verb β probably an adverb
- After a modal or βtoβ β probably a verb
Cambridge hides these grammar clues everywhere β they want to see if you can read structure, not just meaning.
