Unfortunately in doing the research for the next Lunch n Learn for teacher education to minimize the risk of program crisis; the results indicate that teachers are progressing in using corporal punishment, physical abuse, and emotional trauma to force the behavior of children.

Here is the rule 591-1-1-.11 Discipline (1) Disciplinary actions used to correct a child’s behavior, guidance techniques and any activities in which the children participate or observe at the Center shall not be detrimental to the physical or mental health of any child. Rule Type: Core Rule Intent To ensure the use of non-punitive disciplinary practices that enable a child to develop self-control and do not result in physical or emotional damage to the child. To ensure the use of positive guidance techniques. To promote children’s safety by protecting against any other potentially harmful activities and/or known hazards at the center as indicated in the remaining discipline rules.
