Conflict Trap
Sometimes, in the midst of conflict, we fall into patterns of finger-pointing or defensiveness, believing we're just protecting ourselves. Maybe it's a familiar script — the same argument about time or financial stress that spirals out of control. You may find yourself caught in a cycle, but failing to recognize the thread that ties these moments together. Proverbs 27:17 says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another." Conflict, when approached with love and humility, has the potential to refine and deepen your connection.
Check-in: Reflect on a recurring conflict with your partner. What story have you been telling yourself about this conflict, and how might God be inviting you to see it through His eyes? Consider what stepping away from the familiar narrative could open up between you and invite into your relationship.
