True knowledge develops with humility.
In the pursuit of knowledge, it is imperative to remain humble.
Humility isnt something that is replaced by knowledge. Its something you keep coming back to so knowledge doesnt become distorted.
Knowledge is great, but without humility, it can become another tool the ego uses to create illusion.
On the quest for expansion, for growth, for personal development, it is easy to get consumed by the pursuit of knowledge. We start unveiling the mysteries of ourselves and we want more. Epiphanies hit and its an aha moment that releases a feeling of awe.
Naturally, we will desire more of those moments. But it is essential to understand that when knowledge is attained, there must be time spent with that knowledge for it to evolve and become wisdom.
A drop of knowledge comes and we are very quick to share it, to preach it, to fall into the idea that we "know."
Positioning oursleves as someone who "knows," position the self as someone who can no longer learn.
One who knows everything, can learn nothing. One who knows nothing, can learn anything.
We can very easily become so sure of what we know, that we unknowingly stop allowing that knowledge to expand. We stop allowing knowledge to deepen in our understanding of it.
This is when relationships struggle, business suffers, our health crashes, we start feeling stuck, we reach a ceiling limit and life starts happening to us instead of happening for us.
Knowledge is truly a form of expansion. Evolution is the formation of knowledge into wisdom. Knowledge expands our mind to a new level of information, but the evolution of that knowledge is where it continues to develop greater meaning and allows us to see all sides without assuming we fully understand.
A simple example: We all have had a moment(s) in our life when we were so sure of something we knew that we argued, fought, and defended this knowledge only to find out later on, we didnt know what the hell we were talking about. After making a fool of ourselves, we then had to face the truth with humility to accept that we actaully didn't know and refine our way of thinking, in hopes to avoid further embarrassment! 🤣 Many moments for myself.
Knowledge, like anything, must be refined. Refined with humility. Humility is what allows us to examine closely without assumption. To start seeing the many different angles of it and its complexity of various levels for better understanding.
It allows those angles open up deeper truths to what we know so that knowledge evolves within our understanding and how it is applied. It deepens and has many layers that are most of the time infinite within itself.
Continually evolving and opening up to see deeper meaning.
When we gain knowledge and start to think we know, we put the blinders on and cant see past that current level of understanding itself because we are now fixed in what we think it is.
It cant develop and reveal more because it has now become something definitive. And so the mind becomes fixed and starts forming beliefs around it which shape our perception.
Without knowing it, we placed ourselves in another box we will then struggle to get out of.
We start seeing from a place that has a limit and does not permit anything outside of that box to be received if it doesnt match the current level of understanding. We cut off our ability to learn the deeper truths and become rigid with our view on things.
Not allowing Flexibility where it is needed to approach life with grace. Then when things dont go as planned, we lose ourselves.
If kowledge is another box, humility is the box cutter to that breaks us free of that box.
When humility is applied, now one has openness and the willingness to look beyond what they know with curiosity to see if there is more to the story than meets the eye.
It allows the flow of knowledge to become an ongoing process that will keep unfolding into deeper meaning. We understand that its an evolution, a doorway leading to infinite doorways that keeps revealing layer after layer.
Knowledge with humility is a flow of living information that continues to evolve and expand with us. A synchronized dance of serendipitous growth and development within ones self.
Put knowledge in a box, growth stops there and development comes to a halt. There is only so much space within that box to explore and then you are stuck again, wondering how you got there, struggling to get out.
It is important to explore the space of knowledge expanded for the current level of understanding to evolve, but at a point, the box itself must expand and be broken free of any confinement. Other wise that box becomes a prison for your mind.
Constant expansion and evolution is key. You cant keep expanding without the evolution within, but we will talk about that another time.
Use humility to allow knowledge to be a box within an infinite number of larger boxes that allows one to explore the space of the box, then bursts open to a bigger box with more room to evolve.
Everyone loves getting a present that has a box within a box within a box. This way, theres a Neverending surprise waiting to be discovered.
