Challenge
Y’all I need to postpone this weeks challenge.
I apologize for it, but the last few days have been crazy. Watching this fire spread, watching people be put out of homes, people needing basic human needs to be met, and now all these extra farm animals and trying to get them fed.
Thank you to everyone who has donated!! So far we have received over $500 in donations - about $250 for pickles (the video says $150, we’ve since received more) and about $250 for hay & feed for this livestock.
We took in 2 cows, 10 sheep, 6 goats, a mini donkey, and their livestock guardian dog, Dixie. The grass is almost nonexistent from our one cow and 4 goats bc there’s been no rain for it to grow. Hay is essential to these animals in a situation like this for their survival.
I want and bought 24 half gallon jars of pickles this morning and took them to the donation drop off. With the 10% discount Walmart gave, that was half the money we’ve raised for pickles so far. Since then I’ve raised that amount of money again and can go buy more to take 🙌
Patrick went and bought two and a half round bales of hay. $125. Hay is scarce, again, because of the rain. And all the farmers are struggling right now.
If you don’t live in the country these are things you might not think of these things. And we live in a world now where convenience is everything.
Y’all pray. Pray hard. For our whole country, for the world. There are still good people out there.
And one person can make a huge difference.
