Hey Boss Babepreneurs, Let's Talk Etsy!
Hey Boss Babepreneurs!
Happy Freedom Friday! I wanted to talk about something a little different today—Etsy—because it’s one of the places I’ve built online business shops that generate consistent passive income on the side.
My Etsy journey started with using AI to help me brainstorm ideas and create images. I turned those into a mug shop, then a t-shirt shop, then a digital image shop, digital social media shop and most recently I’ve been expanding into digital coloring book pages and digital junk journal pages (digital arts & crafts).
I can share my coloring book and journal shop here to give you an idea of what is possible to sell on Etsy: Mindscape Colorations
I never used social media with any of my Etsy shops. It is not needed.
You can also search Etsy to see what digital products are being sold on there and see the demand in different niches.
What I love about Etsy is that it works without showing your face. You don’t need to be posting videos every day or building a huge social following first. Instead of stressing about content creation every single day, try posting a product to Etsy every day and see how that energizes your business mindset.
Here’s the real deal on Etsy costs so you know what you’re getting into (straight from Etsy’s own fee structure and up-to-date seller resources):
• New shops pay a one-time shop setup fee (around $15 USD depending on your location) before opening.
• Etsy charges a listing fee of $0.20 for each item you list (this gets you exposure in front of their buyers).
• There’s a transaction fee of 6.5% of your total sale price.
• There’s also a payment processing fee of about 3% + $0.25 per transaction through Etsy payment.
If you’ve been even a little curious about starting your own Etsy shop, I’m dropping my referral link right here in this thread. When you use it, you’ll receive 40 free listings to test out your first products without paying the listing fee upfront.
I pay close attention to branding, customer experience, and earning those 5-star reviews every single time. That consistency is what keeps my shops performing and customers coming back.
If you’ve been waiting for a sign to try something new in your online business journey… this might be it.
And don’t overlook this: Etsy already has built-in traffic. You don’t have to build an audience from scratch like on social media—you tap into people who are already searching and ready to buy. The trick is good SEO in your listing titles and tags so the right people find your products.
If you’re feeling discouraged about the online business path you’re on, Etsy could be a refreshingly different option that still aligns with digital entrepreneurship and passive income—but feels easier for you.
🌷 Affirmation for today: “I am open to new opportunities that align with my strengths, and my success grows as I take consistent action.” 🌷
What type of digital product or craft idea have you always wanted to sell but haven’t yet put out into the world?
