How Do You Read?
Not a Fairy Tale — A True Hollywood Survival Story.
When I first arrived here at The Skool Bookshop, I truly knew nothing about writing a book. No cover design. No publishing process. Just a story inside me that needed to be told. This community showed me that you don’t have to have all the answers to start. You just have to be willing to learn, take one step at a time, and keep going. Today, I’m writing my memoir in real time — sharing chapters as they happen, creating scenes inspired by those moments, and growing as a writer right in front of you. And the most beautiful part? Someone with their own writer community recently asked me for the key to reading my book. That was a milestone I never imagined when I first started here. Proof that growth happens when you show up and stay curious. If you’re new, unsure, or wondering where to begin — please know this: You don’t have to know everything. You just have to start. @Scott Soutter 🏴‍☠️🎯🌎🚢🐍

In the Company of Those Who Finished the Story
Some time back I was able to attend several book signings in and around Houston and Dallas, Texas. There’s something special about walking into a room full of authors—and realizing you belong there too. I had the joy of meeting fellow writers who didn’t just dream about stories… they sat down, did the work, and brought those stories to life. We shared laughs, lessons, publishing journeys, and those quiet moments of understanding that only writers truly get. It felt like being part of a rare and determined circle—people who pushed past doubt, finished what they started, and held their books in their hands. There’s a deep respect in that space, not for talking about writing, but for actually doing it. And that? That’s a feeling I'll always cherish.

📚✨ If I wrote a book tomorrow… which one would you read first?
1️⃣ A Soft Reset Guide For women tired of fixing themselves and ready for gentler ways to feel good. (Doable 10min self care) 2️⃣ Midlife Stories from the Lounge Chair Real-life tales, laughter, wisdom, and the occasional emotional plot twist. (Funny humorous shorts from my midlife Chronicles' blogs) 3️⃣ Bringing Back Connection How to feel less alone in a distracted, always-on world. (Aka pen paling and letter writing) Honestly asking because sometimes the next chapter starts as a tiny poll on the internet. 👀 Vote below ⬇️📚
